Return & Refund Policy

At BvB Paris, your satisfaction matters to us. This policy explains clearly how returns, refunds, and cancellations work, and what your rights are as a consumer under French and European law. We want you to feel completely confident shopping with us.

Your Legal Right to Change Your Mind (Right of Withdrawal)

As a consumer purchasing online within the European Union, you benefit from a legal "right of withdrawal" (droit de rétractation) under Articles L221-18 to L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. This means you can change your mind about your purchase without having to give any reason and without any penalty.

Return Window

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return. This is significantly longer than the legal minimum of 14 calendar days, because we understand that international shipping can take time, and we want you to have a fair amount of time to inspect your item once it arrives.

If the 30-day period ends on a weekend or a public holiday, it is automatically extended to the next working day, so you never lose time you're entitled to.

Return Conditions

To be eligible for a return, your item must meet the following conditions:

  • Unused and in its original condition. The product should not show signs of use, wear, or damage caused by handling beyond what is necessary to check the nature and characteristics of the item, similar to what you would do in a physical store.
  • In its original packaging, intact. Please keep the original box and packaging materials until you are sure you want to keep the item.
  • Complete, with all accessories, manuals, and free gifts included. Missing parts may result in a reduced refund corresponding to the missing component.
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (order number or receipt), so we can quickly locate your order and process your return without delay.

How to Request a Return

We've made the process as simple as possible:

  1. Email us at bvb@bvbshops.com with your order number and the reason for your return. You don't need to justify your decision in detail — under your right of withdrawal, you are not required to explain why you changed your mind.
  2. We will respond within 24 hours with return instructions and, where applicable, the return address.
  3. Pack the item securely in its original packaging to prevent damage during transit.
  4. Ship the package to the address provided. We recommend using a trackable shipping method and keeping your proof of postage until your refund is confirmed, just in case.

Refunds — What You Need to Know

We know this is the part you care about most, so here is exactly how it works.

Once your return is received and inspected, we issue your refund within 5 to 10 business days. In practice, most refunds are processed well before this. By law, sellers are required to refund within a maximum of 14 days from the date they are informed of your decision to return the item (Article L221-24 of the French Consumer Code) — our 5–10 business day target is designed to be faster than this legal maximum whenever possible.

Your refund will always be issued to the original payment method you used when placing your order. We do not issue store credit or vouchers instead of a refund unless you explicitly request and agree to it.

Your refund includes the full price of the returned item. If you cancel your entire order, the original delivery charges are also refunded (excluding any extra cost if you chose a faster, more expensive shipping option than our standard delivery).

You will receive an email confirmation as soon as your refund has been processed, including the amount refunded and the expected time for it to appear on your bank or card statement (this can take a few additional days depending on your bank).

Return Shipping Costs

Unless the item received was faulty, incorrect, or not as described, the cost of return shipping is the customer's responsibility. If we made an error or the product is defective, we cover return shipping costs in full — just let us know in your return request and we'll provide a solution at no cost to you.

Non-Refundable Items — And Why

To keep our prices fair for everyone and to comply with hygiene and safety standards, a small number of situations are excluded from free returns:

  • Items damaged through misuse. If a product shows damage that resulted from improper use rather than a manufacturing defect (for example, exposure to conditions outside the product's intended use, or visible accidental damage), we are unable to offer a full refund, since the item can no longer be resold as new. We may offer a partial refund reflecting the item's reduced value, at our discretion.
  • Incomplete returns. If accessories, manuals, or original components are missing, we may deduct their value from your refund or ask you to send the missing parts before completing the refund.
  • Hygiene-sealed items that have been unsealed (where applicable), in line with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, which permits this exception for products that cannot be resold for health or hygiene reasons once their seal has been broken.
  • Custom-made or personalized items (if applicable to your order), as these are excluded from the right of withdrawal by law, since they are made specifically for you and cannot be resold to another customer.

Order Cancellations

If you wish to cancel an order before it has shipped, contact us as soon as possible at bvb@bvbshops.com. If your order hasn't yet been processed by our fulfillment partner, we can cancel it free of charge and issue a full refund. If it has already shipped, you can still return it once received, following the standard return process above.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive an item that is damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, please contact us within a reasonable time of receiving it, ideally with a photo of the issue. This is not treated as a standard return — we will cover all costs, offer a replacement or a full refund (your choice), and you will not be charged for return shipping.

Late or Missing Refunds

If more than 10 business days have passed since we confirmed receipt of your return and you haven't received your refund, please check with your bank or card provider first, as processing times can occasionally vary. If you still haven't received it, contact us at bvb@bvbshops.com and we will look into it right away.

Your Statutory Rights

This policy is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights as a consumer under French and European Union law, including legal guarantees relating to the conformity and quality of goods sold. Nothing in this policy limits the rights you are entitled to by law.
